Derek Leavitt

Derek Leavitt has a wealth of work experience, beginning with their role as an Intern at David Jay Flood Architect in 1997. Derek then worked as an Associate at Studio 9 one 2 Architecture from 2003-2004, and then as an Associate at Michael Hricak Architects from 2004-2006. In 2006, they Co-Founded and became Principal at Modative. In 2019, they were the 2019 Board President at the Building Industry Association of Southern California - LA/Ventura Chapter. Most recently, they have been working as the Vice President of Development at United Dwelling since 2020, and is currently the President of Small Homes Holdings, working to solve the housing crisis in California by developing modular (factory-built) rental units.

Derek Leavitt obtained a BARCH degree in Architecture and Business from the University of Southern California between 1995 and 2000. In 2007, they obtained a Licensed Architect certification from the California Architects Board.
