Omar Elshaarawy

Omar Elshaarawy is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospital NHS Trust since October 2021, where Omar also serves as the Clinical Lead for Alcohol Care Services. In addition, Elshaarawy holds various leadership roles within prominent professional organizations, including Deputy Chair and Communication Lead for the British Society of Gastroenterology International Committee, and a Governing Board member for the British Society of Study of Liver. Elshaarawy is also a Social Media Editor for the UEG - United European Gastroenterology Journal and has been involved with the National Liver Institute at Menoufia University since August 2013 as a Consultant and Lecturer. Previous positions include Board Member roles in the Young Talent Group and the Young Endoscopists Committee, as well as serving as a Gastroenterologist at the University of Heidelberg from November 2017 to March 2020.
