Justin S.

Director, Chief Of Program at United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM)

Justin S. has an extensive work experience spanning over several decades. Justin began their career in the US Navy as a Navy EOD Officer, where they served for nearly 24 years. During their time in the navy, Justin held various leadership positions, including Platoon Commander and Company Commander.

After leaving the navy, Justin worked as an International Advisor and Consultant at the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD). In this role, they conducted global strategic assessments and advised national authorities on risk analysis and security measures.

Justin also worked for the United Nations, where they held multiple positions. Justin served as the Head of Policy and Analysis, as well as the Chief of Programme for the United Nations Support Mission in Libya. In their roles, Justin played a key role in shaping policies and coordinating programs to support peacekeeping efforts.

More recently, Justin worked for the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) as the Chief of Branch/Director. In this position, they oversaw the operations and strategic direction of a branch within the mission.

Throughout their career, Justin has demonstrated strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and expertise in risk analysis and security. Justin has contributed to the development of international standards and has been actively involved in public speaking events and article writing on humanitarian and security topics.

Justin S. earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Saint Leo University in the years 1995 to 1998. Justin later pursued a Master of Arts in International Relations and National Security Studies at the Naval Postgraduate School from 2009 to 2010. Recently, in 2016 to 2017, they completed a joint UCLA-NUS Global Executive MBA for Asia-Pacific, earning a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from both UCLA Anderson School of Management and the National University of Singapore.
