Shruti Upadhyay

Shruti Upadhyay is a seasoned gender specialist with extensive experience in international development and women's empowerment. Since December 2019, Shruti has been serving as a Gender Specialist at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). Prior roles include Programme Specialist in Governance and Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) at UN Women, as well as Regional Programme Coordinator and Gender Specialist. Shruti's career also encompasses managerial positions at Oxfam-Solidariteit and Christian Aid, where responsibilities included managing gender programs, advocating for policy changes, and leading initiatives to combat trafficking and support economic development in South Asia. With advanced education in peace and conflict resolution and social work, Shruti has contributed significantly to grassroots movements and partnerships aimed at addressing gender-based issues and empowering marginalized communities.
