Leonard Heilig's work experience includes co-founding and serving as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at driveMybox GmbH, where they lead technical development and optimization of the platform. Leonard has also worked as a Project Lead Researcher at Universität Hamburg, focusing on the development of a digital twin for container terminals. Prior to that, they were a Lecturer and Senior Researcher at Universität Hamburg, as well as a Lecturer and PhD Candidate. Leonard also has experience as a CEO at elbblick consulting and as a Visiting Researcher at the University of Melbourne's CLOUDS Lab. Leonard has worked as a Cloud Software Engineer at Adobe Systems Engineering, a Business Analyst/Digital Signatures at Airbus Innovations, and a Cloud Software Developer at Fiducia & GAD IT.

Leonard Heilig received a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Information Systems from the University of Münster in 2010. Leonard then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Information Systems at the University of Hamburg from 2011 to 2013. In 2012, they also completed a short-term program in Computer Science at the University of St Andrews. Leonard continued their education at the University of Hamburg, where they earned a Doctor / Ph.D. degree in Information Systems / Operations Research from 2013 to 2017. Additionally, they took a web analytics course at The University of British Columbia in 2011 as part of UBC Continuing Studies.
