Ray Sedwick

Ray Sedwick is a distinguished academic and scientist specializing in space propulsion and aerospace engineering. Since August 2007, Ray serves as a Professor at the University of Maryland's A. James Clark School of Engineering, holding key positions such as Keystone Professor, Director of the Space Power and Propulsion Laboratory, and Director of the Aerospace Honors Program. Ray also contributes as Chief Scientist for Space Systems at AST&Science from June 2017. Prior experience includes roles as Principal Research Scientist and Research Scientist at the MIT Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics from July 2000 to 2007, and Postdoctoral Associate from November 1997 to June 1999. Ray earned a PhD in Space Propulsion from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1992 to 1997 and a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Penn State University from 1988 to 1992.
