Katie McGwin Cfre

Katie McGwin, CFRE, has extensive work experience in various roles and positions. Katie worked at the URI Foundation & Alumni Engagement as an Associate Director, Corporate and Foundation Relations, and BEC Communications since May 2014. Katie also worked as a Per Course Instructor at the University of Rhode Island from September 2019 to August 2020. Prior to that, they were a Development Assistant at Newbury College from August 2013 to May 2014. Katie served as the Head Writer at EdTrips from February 2013 to September 2013. Katie also had significant involvement with WRIU 90.3 FM, where they held roles such as DJ/Host/Show Producer, General Manager, Assistant General Manager, and Rock Promotions Director from October 2008 to September 2013. Additionally, they worked as a Graduate Student Instructor at the University of Rhode Island from September 2011 to May 2013. Katie gained experience as a Media, Marketing, and Communications Intern at JumpOffCampus from May 2012 to December 2012. Earlier in their career, they were a Student Office Assistant at the University of Rhode Island Foundation from October 2007 to October 2011 and a Freelance Writer at Standard Times Newspaper from September 2009 to September 2011. Throughout their career, Katie has demonstrated their skills in corporate and foundation relations, communication, development, writing, and administration.

Katie McGwin, CFRE, holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Communication Studies from the University of Rhode Island, which they obtained from 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from the same university in Communication Studies and Art from 2007 to 2011.
