Jean Margaritis

Jean Margaritis has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several years. Currently, Jean is the Portfolio Director for Asia, Middle East, and Northern Africa at University Research Co., LLC (URC) & Center for Human Services (CHS), where they are responsible for advancing and managing international health projects in the mentioned regions. This includes project management, compliance, coordination of headquarters support, and business development roles.

Prior to their current role, Jean worked at Abt Associates, where they held various positions. As the Senior Associate / Country Manager, Jean managed the USAID/Vietnam Local Health System Sustainability program and led new business efforts for Abt's International Development Division. Jean also served as the Chief of Party for the USAID Zika emergency response project in Jamaica, overseeing entomological surveillance and vector control operations. Additionally, as Senior Associate, Jean co-led Abt's Health System Strengthening Center of Excellence and provided technical project management for the USAID-funded Public Sector Strengthening project in Tanzania. Jean's tenure at Abt also included a role as Deputy Chief of Party for a health information system project in Kenya.

Before joining Abt Associates, Jean worked at The CAP Agency as a Family Services Coordinator, where they developed emergency services and crisis intervention for vulnerable populations. They also took on the role of Director of Programs/Co-Founder at The G.R.O. Foundation Lesotho, where they established and grew a non-profit organization with a focus on social development.

Jean has also worked as a Volunteer Coordinator at OHAfrica, maximizing the impact of international and medical volunteers, and as an HIV/AIDS Advisor for the US Peace Corps in Lesotho, where they provided program development and technical assistance.

Jean's earlier experience includes working as a Program Coordinator at the University of Montana-Missoula.
