Robert van Leersum has a diverse work experience in the procurement and finance sectors. Robert currently holds the position of Head of Procurement - Global Edible Oils at Upfield since November 2020. Prior to that, they worked as a Global Procurement Manager Liquid Oils at Upfield from July 2018 to October 2020. Before joining Upfield, Robert worked at Unilever as a Global Procurement Manager Liquid Oils for a brief period in 2018 and as a Buyer Liquid Oils Europe from 2016 to 2018. Earlier in their career, they had roles at Sime Darby Unimills B.V., where they served as a Business Controller from 2012 to 2016 and as a Strategic Analyst from 2011 to 2012. Robert started their career as a Financial Consultant at Yacht in 2009.

Robert van Leersum completed their education in various institutions. Robert began their academic journey in 1999 at Van Lodenstein College, where they pursued a VWO degree with a focus on Economics & Society. Later, from 2005 to 2009, they attended Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, obtaining an MscBA degree in Business Administration. Moving forward, in 2009, they continued their education at the same institution and completed an MSc degree in Strategic Management within a year. Finally, between 2012 and 2014, Robert attended Erasmus School of Accounting & Assurance, specializing in Management Control and becoming a Certified Management Controller.
