Kami Cooper

Kami Cooper, DNP, PMHNP-BC, currently serves as the Chief of Readiness and Deployment and Chief of Wellness Takes Fortitude at the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service. With extensive experience in public health, including roles as a Senior Public Health Analyst and Nurse Consultant, Kami specializes in disaster response coordination, policy development, and mental health care provision. Education includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Hampton University, a Master's in Nursing from the University of Maryland Baltimore, a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Duquesne University, and a Postgraduate Degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing from the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing. Additionally, Kami is a founding member of the Black Nurse Collaborative and actively contributes to career promotion and mentorship in nursing and public health.
