Jon Almazán

Jon Almazán has extensive experience in research and development, particularly in the field of deep learning and computer vision. Jon has held positions at various companies and research institutions, including V7, NAVER LABS Europe, Xerox Research Centre Europe, Computer Vision Center, Osaka Prefecture University, Universitat Jaume I, Cognitive Robots S.L., and NHL Hogeschool.

Jon'smost recent position was at V7 as the Deep Learning Lead, starting in February 2023. Prior to that, they worked at NAVER LABS Europe as a Research Scientist from April 2021 to February 2023.

From June 2019 to December 2020, Jon was an Applied Research Scientist at V7. Before that, they worked as a Research Scientist at NAVER LABS Europe from August 2017 to May 2019.

Jon also gained research experience at Xerox Research Centre Europe as a Research Scientist from April 2016 to July 2017, and as a Postdoctoral Researcher from November 2014 to April 2016. Jon was a Research Scientist at the Computer Vision Center from October 2013 to June 2014.

Additionally, Jon completed research internships at Osaka Prefecture University and Universitat Jaume I. Jon was a Research Intern at Osaka Prefecture University from November 2012 to January 2013, and at Universitat Jaume I from April 2009 to August 2009.

Jon began their career in research and development as a Research and Development Intern at Cognitive Robots S.L. from January 2008 to June 2008, and at NHL Hogeschool from August 2006 to February 2007.

Jon Almazán completed their education with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Vision from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in the years 2010 to 2014. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's degree in Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence from the same institution during 2009 and 2010. Jon's undergraduate degree in Computer Science was earned from Universitat Jaume I, where they studied from 2001 to 2008. Additionally, they also attended NHL Hogeschool for a brief period in 2006 and 2007, although the degree obtained from there is not specified.
