Shamshad Ali

Shamshad Ali has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. Shamshad is currently serving as the Chief Transformation & Strategy Officer at Vanquis Banking Group since February 2020. Shamshad also holds a position at the University of Reading as a Lay member of Council and a member of the audit committee since September 2022. Prior to these roles, Shamshad worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP for a significant duration. Shamshad started as an Auditor in the Banking & Capital Markets audit practice in 1997 and progressed to become a Manager in 1999 and a Senior Manager in 2001. In 2008, they were promoted to the role of Partner in the Mergers & Acquisitions division. Throughout their tenure, they primarily focused on advising financial institutions and private equity investors on M&A transactions in the banking, asset management, and insurance sectors. Additionally, they provided advisory services to listed groups on public takeover bids, primarily in the FTSE 100. Prior to joining PwC, Shamshad completed their ACA training at Robson Rhodes Chartered Accountants, where they worked as an Auditor from 1994 to 1997. Shamshad'srole involved auditing mid-sized businesses across various sectors and conducting forensic investigations in response to regulatory actions or litigation.

Shamshad Ali completed an M.A. degree in International Banking & Financial Services from the University of Reading in 1994. Following this, Shamshad Ali obtained an ACA degree from ICAEW in 1997.
