Daniel Laughland

Daniel Laughland has extensive work experience in the software engineering and development field. Daniel is currently employed as the Application Engineering Lead at Velocity Risk since 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Novus Home Mortgage as the SVP of Software Engineering from 2019 to 2023, where they played a crucial role in establishing the software delivery practice. As a Senior Software Developer at RevealRx, LLC from 2016 to 2019, Daniel contributed to the design and implementation of a data analytics platform. Before that, they served as a Staff Consultant at Centare from 2012 to 2016, specializing in various technologies and taking on responsibilities in QA and UX design. Daniel also has experience in leadership roles, having served as the Director of Communications at UW-Milwaukee Student Association from 2009 to 2012. Daniel started their career as a Software Developer/Internship at FiveTwelve Group in 2010 and as a Consultant/Programmer at JADE International in 2008. Daniel's experience also includes working as a Digital Archives Webmaster at Purdue University from 2007 to 2008.

Daniel Laughland has a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Management Information Systems from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, which they obtained between 2009 and 2011. Prior to that, they attended Purdue University from 2004 to 2008, where they transferred to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Daniel has also obtained several certifications, including the Certified Solutions Architect - Professional from Amazon Web Services, the Certified Terraform Associate from HashiCorp, and the Amateur Radio Operator, Technician Class from the Federal Communications Commission. Daniel also holds the Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer: Web Applications certification from Microsoft and the Professional Scrum Developer I and Professional Scrum Master I certifications from Scrum.org.
