Magnus Tønder Koudahl has a long history of work experience in the fields of research and development. From 2015 to 2017, they were a Masters Student at the Danish Research Center for Magnetic Resonance, where they worked on a research project within the field of neuroeconomics. Magnus Tønder performed the primary data analysis, assisted in designing the experiment and the accompanying statistical protocol, and performed the necessary logistical tasks related to testing facilities, scanning procedures, and subject recruitment.
In 2017, they began working as a Research Assistant at the Danish Research Centre for Magnetic Resonance, where they did computational modelling of behavioural data using hierarchical bayesian methods and MCMC sampling. Magnus Tønder also operated MRI-scanners, developed data processing pipelines for MRI-data, and designed and programmed fMRI experiments.
In 2018, they began working as a Data Scientist at 2021.AI, and also began their PhD Candidate role at Eindhoven University of Technology. Magnus Tønder'sresearch focused on bringing the computational neuroscience framework of Active Inference to engineering applications, and they designed and implemented synthetic Active Inference agents to solve reinforcement learning tasks.
In 2021, they began working as a Developer at Nested Minds, where they developed novel machine learning solutions based on Active Inference and the Free Energy Principle. Magnus Tønder designed Bayesian ML systems and developed Active Inference agents that solved business problems, which formed part of larger ML systems together with deep learning components and traditional signal processing.
Finally, in 2022, they began working as a Researcher at VERSES.
Magn Tønder Koudahl completed a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen between 2011 and 2015. Magnus Tønder then went on to complete a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in It & Cognition from the same university between 2015 and 2017.
