Katie Dean has over 15 years of work experience in the hospitality, education, and media industries. In 2005, they began their career as an Operations Coordinator for Viacom. In 2007, they transitioned to the NYC Department of Education as an Elementary School Teacher. In 2011, they joined The Palm Restaurant as a Maitre'd, Reservationist, and Sales Assistant. From 2014-2015, they worked for Paige Hospitality Group as an Assistant General Manager and Sales Manager/Event Planner. During this time, they opened a new restaurant located in a newly constructed hotel. From 2015-2016, they worked as a General Manager at Vai Restaurant and a Director of Operations & Talent Development - Young Learner Programs at Rennert International. In 2019, they joined Harri as the Head of Global Training and Development, where they trained global Client Services, Sales, and Solutions teams. Katie also designed and launched a self-guided training program for onboarding customers and created a product knowledge repository. In 2021, they became the Sales Manager at The Lexington Hotel, Autograph Collection. Most recently, they are the Learning and Development Manager at VFP Consulting.
Katie Dean attended Stanford University's Graduate School of Business Summer Institute, Brooklyn College where they earned their Master of Science (M.S.) in Elementary Education and Teaching, and Hofstra University where they earned their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Interdisciplinary Studies. In 2021, they obtained certifications in Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging from LinkedIn and in Organizational Learning and Development from LinkedIn.
