Faris Hamdi

Chief Technology Officer at Vici Robotics

Faris Hamdi has a diverse work experience in the field of robotics and space technology. Faris is currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer at Vici Robotics since January 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Robotics Software Engineer at Vici Robotics from September 2020 to January 2022.

Before joining Vici Robotics, Faris had a role as a Space Systems Engineer - Developer at Planet. During their time there from October 2019 to August 2020, they developed software for monitoring and responding to on-orbit conditions of satellites.

Faris also co-founded Voyager Space Technologies, where they served as the CTO and played a key role in developing a cloud platform for engineers to design and analyze complex hardware. Faris managed product releases, platform deployments, and engaged with customers to ensure technical development aligned with their needs.

Additionally, Faris has experience in teaching as an Instructor at UC San Diego Extension in 2017. Faris also served as the CubeSat Project Manager at SEDS UCSD, where they led a team of engineers to design and test a CubeSat for NASA's Cubequest competition.

Earlier in their career, Faris worked as an Associate Mechanical Engineer at Scripps Institution of Oceanography from December 2015 to December 2016.

Faris Hamdi obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering from UC San Diego between 2014 and 2018. In addition, Faris obtained the Triplebyte Certified Generalist Engineer certification from Triplebyte in May 2021.
