Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineer at Victrex

Andy Butterworth has a diverse work experience, starting with a role as an Electrical Chemical Plant Work Experience at ATEX SOLUTIONS LIMITED in February 2017. Later that year, they had a work placement at Westinghouse Electric Company facilitated by Victrex. In August 2017, they joined Victrex as an Electrical & Control Tradesperson and worked in that role until October 2021. During this period, they also had a secondment as an IATF 16949 & ISO 9001 Electrical Compliance. In October 2021, they transitioned to the role of a CompEx Electrical & Control Technician at Victrex. Andy also worked as a Firefighter and Fire cadet drill instructor at Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service from August 2017 to July 2022. Currently, they are employed at Victrex as an Electrical Control Engineer (D365/Ultimo CMMS) starting from October 2022.

Andy Butterworth's education history starts with the completion of a Bachelor of Engineering - BEng (hons) degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from Lancaster University. This degree was obtained from 2022 to 2025.

Before that, from 2019 to 2021, Andy attended Blackpool and The Fylde College and earned a Level 4 HNC Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. During the same period, Andy also completed a Level 3 - NVQ in Electrical Engineering Extended Diploma from EAL.

In 2021, Andy pursued a specific area of study and earned an NVQ in Electricity at Work Regulations from Inspired Training.

From 2017 to 2021, Andy undertook a Level 3 Engineering program in Electrical Maintenance and Operations from the Institute for Apprenticeships & Technical Education. Additionally, from 2017 to 2019, Andy completed a Level 3 Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Double Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Blackpool and The Fylde College.

Moreover, Andy obtained a certificate in IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety and Health) from Bill Rogerson Safety Services LTD in 2017.

In the earlier years, from 2015 to 2017, Andy attended Blackpool Sixth Form College. During this time, Andy pursued Level 3 - A level qualifications in three fields of study: Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, and Law & Criminology.
