Ben Clemens

Ben Clemens is an experienced professional with a diverse background in product design, user experience, and creative direction. Ben is currently serving as the Director of Product Design at VideaHealth. Prior to this role, Ben worked as a Lecturer at California State University, Long Beach, where they instructed a UX Projects Course in the Product Design curriculum, focusing on design pattern development and Figma skills.

Before joining California State University, Ben served as the Design Director at Philo, where they successfully designed and launched a new consumer TV product, growing the subscriber base from zero to over 1 million. Ben also originated the product design, brand, and marketing design, while expanding the design team from one to eight members.

Furthermore, Ben has held various leadership positions throughout their career, including Director of User Experience at DIY, where they created and developed new online courses for kids and recruited design and development talent. Ben also worked as a Senior User Experience Designer at Chegg Inc., redesigning the live learning collaboration product for a startup called InstaEdu.

Prior to that, Ben worked at Storify.com as a Designer, redesigning and relaunching a social media curation and hosting service for major news outlets. Ben also gained valuable experience as the Director of User Experience at Blurb, where they redesigned primary creation apps and managed a team of three designers.

Ben's career also includes being the Creative Director at BabyCenter, where they redesigned the primary website and logo and created category-leading iOS apps for pregnant individuals. Ben additionally worked at Yahoo! in various roles, including Director of Design Innovation Team and Creative Director, managing teams of designers and working on Yahoo Maps, Autos, Local, and new business opportunities.

Lastly, Ben started their career at Razorfish as a Manager of Interaction Design, working with clients such as Visa and Sun Microsystems and developing processes for information architecture and sales materials.

Ben Clemens attended Antioch College from 1987 to 1991, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine/Studio Arts. Ben then went on to attend Temple University from 1991 to 1993, earning a Master of Fine Arts degree in Art.
