Matthew Ballew

Matthew Ballew is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the energy sector and business management. Currently serving as the Director of Innovation Strategy at Vistra Corp. since August 2011, Matthew leads innovation projects and supports strategic initiatives within the company. Prior roles at Vistra include LTSA Manager and Technology Strategist, where responsibilities encompassed program management, technical direction, commercial strategy development, and collaboration on technology roadmaps. Earlier, as an LTSA Lead and Combustion Turbine Engineer, Matthew contributed to profitability enhancements and operational efficiency in the power industry. In addition to corporate roles, Matthew also owns and operates 104 Cattle Company, a family-run business providing all-natural, grass-fed beef. Prior experience includes a position as a Research Engineer at Southwest Research Institute, focusing on advanced maintenance algorithms for aerospace propulsion systems. Matthew earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Baylor University.
