Megan Gardea's work experience includes various roles in the food safety and quality assurance field. Megan started their career in 2011 as a Nutrition Assistant at Stillwater Medical Center. In 2012, they interned as a Pre-Veterinary Student at the Oklahoma State University Center for Veterinary Health Services. From 2012 to 2021, Megan worked at Tyson Foods, where they held positions such as Production Supervisor and FSQA Supervisor, overseeing different aspects of poultry processing and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. In 2021, they joined Bell & Evans as a Senior Manager of Food Safety & Regulatory, where they worked until 2023. Currently, Megan is the Director of Food Safety & Quality Assurance at Vital Farms.

Megan Gardea completed their education with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Sciences from Oklahoma State University in 2012. Megan then pursued a Master of Science degree in Food Safety from the University of Arkansas, which they obtained in 2021. Additionally, Megan has obtained various certifications including SQF Practitioner, FSPCA Preventive Controls for Human Food, Food Defense Awareness, Root-Cause Failure Analysis for Manufacturing, and HACCP (Meat & Poultry).
