Rushan Shakya

Rushan Shakya has a diverse work experience in the field of software development and machine learning. Starting in 2013, they worked as a Business Operations Associate at Hewlett-Packard, where they created and maintained data pipelines and reports using Oracle DB. They also developed business metrics, performed reporting activities in Tableau, and analyzed data using MS Excel.

In 2016, Rushan worked as a Graduate Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at Texas Tech University. As a Graduate Research Assistant, they contributed to a marketing research project focused on consumer behavior patterns within the retail industry. They also assisted in teaching a Database Management System class.

From 2018 to 2020, Rushan worked as a Senior Associate Analytics Consultant at Infosys Limited. In this role, they developed a machine learning model to predict fraudulent behavior of customers using promotional offers. They utilized feature engineering and the XGBoost classification algorithm for prediction. Additionally, they created a performance scorecard for Mobile Device Diagnostics to identify device malfunctions.

In 2020, Rushan joined Amdocs as a Software Developer, specializing in machine learning. They remained in this role until 2021, before moving on to JPMorgan Chase & Co. as a Machine Learning Engineer. In this position, they focused on machine learning applications.

Most recently, Rushan joined VIZIO as a Senior Software Developer and Machine Learning Engineer in February 2023.

Rushan Shakya completed a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems from Texas Tech University between 2015 and 2017. Following that, they pursued a Master of Science in Data Science from Texas Tech University, which they completed between 2017 and 2018.
