Imme Ruarus has a diverse work experience. Imme started their career as a Digital Marketing intern at Amber Communications in 2014. In 2016, they worked as a Financial Services Administrator at a.s.r., a Dutch insurance company. Following this, Imme worked as a Policy Officer for Sustainability and Energy Transition at the Municipality of Texel in 2017. Imme then joined Pakhuis de Zwijger as a Program Maker for Sustainability. In 2018, they became a Communication Officer focusing on digital solutions at IDH, The Sustainable Trade Initiative. At IDH, they also completed an internship in communications and conducted their master's thesis research. Currently, Imme holds the role of Lab Lead and Concept Developer at Waag Futurelab's Smart Citizens Lab since February 2021.
Imme Ruarus has a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in International Communication and Media from HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht (Hogeschool Utrecht), which was attained from 2011 to 2015. Imme also pursued minor studies in Marketing at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences from 2013 to 2014. Additionally, Imme completed a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Sustainable Development at Uppsala University from 2016 to 2018.
