Fiona Lavery's work experience starts in 2007 when they worked as an HR Officer at Central Manchester & Manchester Children's Foundation Trust. Fiona then moved on to work as an HR Assistant at the Health Protection Agency. In 2008, they became an HR Advisor at the Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals NHS Trust and later at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. In 2010, Fiona joined the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew as a Human Resources Business Partner, where they led a complex change management project for Kew's Commercial arm Enterprises Ltd. Their most recent role is at WaterAid, where they started as a People Business Partner, providing strategic business partnering advice and support. Fiona then became the Head of UK People Management, where they developed people strategies and led change initiatives. Fiona's current role is as the Change and Employee Experience Director, overseeing employee experience and driving change initiatives.

Fiona Lavery attended the University of Liverpool from 2002 to 2005, where they earned a BA Hons degree with a second-class upper division (2:1) in History. In 2007, they enrolled in Alliance Manchester Business School and completed a Master of Science degree in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations, achieving a Merit distinction in 2008.
