Eduardo Fontes

Eduardo Fontes has over 20 years of experience in data science and machine learning roles. Eduardo currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Data Science at Wealth since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Managing Director and Head of Data Intelligence at TIAA from 2021 to 2022, where they led the Center of Excellence for Data Science & Engineering and developed innovative AI/ML solutions to support business goals. From 2017 to 2021, Fontes was the Head of Data Science and Machine Learning at Vanguard, where they managed a team and delivered various projects such as recommender systems, NLP models, and customer success optimization models. Before that, they held leadership positions at American Family Insurance, Visa, and American Express, where they focused on advanced analytics, fraud mitigation, and risk management. Fontes also worked at Zurich Brasil Seguros, Vivo (Telefônica Brasil), BCP Telecommunications, and UNIBANCO-União Bancos Brasileiros S/A, where they developed predictive models and implemented machine learning solutions.

Eduardo Fontes has a diverse education history starting in 1996 when they obtained their Bachelor's degree in Statistics from Universidade Estadual de Campinas. Following that, in 2001, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration and Management, General from FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas. More recently, from 2018 to 2020, they attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology and earned a Micro Masters in Data Science, focusing on Data Science and Machine Learning.
