Robert McFarlin

Robert McFarlin has an extensive work history in public affairs, government relations, and policy development. Robert began their career as the Acting Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Transportation, where they oversaw a large organization and played a key role in developing long-term plans and budgets. Prior to this, McFarlin served as the Assistant Commissioner for Policy and Public Affairs at the same department, where they advised the Commissioner and Governor on policy matters and managed government relations and media relations. Robert also has experience in the private sector, working as the Vice President of Corporate, Community & Public Affairs at Weber Shandwick, where they provided strategic communications and crisis management services to clients engaged in public issue advocacy and government relations. McFarlin's most recent role was as a Council Member at the Metropolitan Council of the Twin Cities, where they were appointed by the Governor and served as the federal Metropolitan Planning Organization for the region.

Robert McFarlin completed their Master of Arts degree in Speech Communication from the University of Minnesota in the academic year 1987-1988.
