Marina Galvao has a diverse work experience in science communication and aquatic science. Marina started their career as an Aquatic Science Technician at Fisheries and Oceans Canada in 2020, where they worked until 2023. During this time, they also worked as a Wildfire Lab and Field Research Assistant at The University of British Columbia - Faculty of Forestry in 2021. In 2022, Marina joined Whale Seeker as the Head of Science Communication. Their roles and responsibilities in each position have not been specified.

Marina Galvao obtained an Honours Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Natural Resources Conservation from The University of British Columbia, where they studied from 2017 to 2022.
