Carlos Bacalski has over 20 years of work experience in the engineering and scientific fields. From 2022 to present, they have served as a Process Engineer at Wildcat Discovery Technologies. From 2015 to 2022, they worked as a Scientist in Nuclear Technology and Materials at General Atomics. From 2011 to 2015, they were a Process Engineer at Saint-Gobain Solar Gard, LLC, where they achieved the highest annual cost savings of all Operations employees in 2014 and created process flows for metallized film production. From 1999 to 2011, they worked as a Senior Engineer at COI Ceramics, Inc., an Affiliate of ATK, where they managed a $175,000 program to develop design allowables for a high strength ceramic composite material and identified and mitigated critical chemical reactions affecting life of an Invar tool.

Carlos Bacalski attended Mount Miguel High School before pursuing higher education at The Johns Hopkins University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering in 1996. Carlos then went on to obtain a Master of Science in Materials Science from UC San Diego in 1999.
