Mark Despain

Mark DeSpain has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and leadership. Mark is currently working as a Software Engineer at Woven by Toyota since 2023. Prior to this, Mark worked at Indeed.com from September 2019 to August 2022 as a Team Lead and Senior Software Engineer. During their tenure, they successfully introduced a new bidding algorithm and implemented a centralized deployment blackout window management system.

From 2016 to 2019, Mark worked at AWS Elemental, an Amazon Web Services Company, as a Team Lead and Senior Engineer. Mark played a crucial role in leading and guiding the MediaStore and MediaTailor teams.

Before joining AWS Elemental, Mark worked at Cylance Inc. in 2015 as an Architect and Principal Engineer. Mark focused on scaling Cylance Protect and transitioning the cloud-side architecture to a service-oriented approach.

Mark also has experience at McAfee as a Platform Architect and Principal Engineer, Jive Software as a Technical Lead, Amentra as a Senior Consultant, and Fiserv Inc., Summit Information Systems as a Software Engineer.

In addition to their professional experience, Mark worked independently as a Freelance Software Developer and collaborated with Dr. Richard Brown on the development of SCIEX, an implementation of the Lifetime Exercise and Adherence Plan (LEAP).

Mark DeSpain attended the University of Oregon from 2000 to 2003, where they obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Information Science.
