Satoru Moriya

Satoru Moriya has a diverse work experience in the field of research and development, with a focus on IoT platforms, cloud computing, and Linux RAS features. Satoru worked as a Staff Engineer at Woven by Toyota from 2019 onwards. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Researcher at Hitachi from 2013 to 2019, where they led a team in developing an IoT platform and built/operated a private cloud. Satoru also worked on OpenStack cloud platform development and DevOps platform development. Before their time at Hitachi, Satoru worked as a Principal Software Engineer at Hitachi Data Systems from 2010 to 2013. Satoru began their career as a Researcher at Hitachi in 2005, where they focused on Linux RAS features and contributed to open source software projects.

Satoru Moriya holds a Master's degree in Information Technology, specializing in Image Processing, which they obtained from the Tokyo Institute of Technology from 2003 to 2005. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, with a focus on Image Processing, at the same institution from 1998 to 2003. In addition to their academic achievements, Satoru Moriya has also obtained certifications in the field of technology. In January 2020, they became an AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate through Amazon Web Services (AWS). Before that, in January 2019, they earned the title of CKAD: Certified Kubernetes Application Developer from The Linux Foundation.
