Sebastiano Di Paola has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and computer security. Sebastiano started their career in 2000 as a Junior Software Engineer at S.S.B. Progetti S.r.l. In 2002, they joined Telecom Italia Lab as a Computer Security Researcher, focusing on research in network security and intrusion detection systems. From 2004 to 2012, they worked at Telecom Italia as a Security Engineer, where their main focus was developing and prototyping innovative security solutions and products with a focus on network intrusion and anomaly detection. In 2012, they joined Telecom Italia Information Technology (TI.IT) s.r.l. as a Security Engineer, where they stayed until 2016. During this time, their responsibilities included analyzing vulnerability reports and deploying countermeasures. From 2016 to 2019, Sebastiano worked at TIM as a Security Engineer, contributing to the research and development of computer security technologies and algorithms. Sebastiano concentrated on TCP/IP protocol suite and network protection, and was involved in the development of a data analysis cluster utilizing Hadoop and Elasticsearch technology. In 2019, Sebastiano joined Thales as a Software Engineer and served as the sole engineer within the Japan region, actively participating in the development of data protection and cybersecurity-oriented products. Sebastiano collaborated closely with remotely-located team members and was responsible for investigating and resolving customer-escalated issues. Currently, they are working as a Software Engineer at Woven by Toyota, starting in 2023 with no specified end date.
