Kate Newlin

Kate Newlin has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Kate is currently the Director of Operations at Scholarus Learning, where they lead a team in building and fulfilling customized course material orders for colleges and universities. Kate is known for their strategic and results-driven approach, optimizing operational processes and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Prior to this, Kate held the position of Director of Operations at XanEdu, Inc., where they successfully managed a team and spearheaded the transition to remote operations during the pandemic. Kate also worked as an Operations Manager and Account Service Manager at XanEdu, where they excelled in driving operational excellence and maintaining strong client relationships.

In addition, Kate has experience as a Principal at Emblu, where they leveraged their expertise to provide valuable insights and solutions. Kate also worked as a Sustainable Workplace Intern at the University of Michigan - Office of Campus Sustainability, where they implemented sustainability practices for offices on campus.

Furthermore, Kate worked as a Student Sustainability Consultant at the University of Michigan Health System, focusing on waste management and energy and water use. Kate also served as a Life Cycle Assessment Intern at Kymeira Advanced Materials, conducting assessments and making recommendations to enhance material sustainability.

Earlier in their career, Kate was a Library Paraprofessional at Richmond Community Schools, managing the library inventory and implementing literacy programs. Kate Newlin earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Biology from Claremont McKenna College in 2002. Kate then went on to pursue a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Religious Studies from Earlham School of Religion, which they completed in 2009. Continuing their education, Kate obtained a Master's degree in Sustainable Systems from the University of Michigan in 2013.
