Simon Banville

Senior Navigation Algorithms Engineer at Xona Space Systems

Simon Banville has extensive work experience in the field of geodetics and navigation algorithms. Simon began their career as a GPS Software Engineer at CMC Electronics in 2007. In 2009, they worked as a Research Fellow at the Electronic Navigation Research Institute (ENRI). From 2010 to 2022, they served as a Senior Geodetic Engineer at Natural Resources Canada. In 2017, they briefly worked as a Consultant at Swift Navigation. Currently, they are employed as a Senior Navigation Algorithms Engineer at Xona Space Systems, starting in April 2022.

Simon Banville earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Geomatics from Université Laval in 2005. Simon then pursued their Master of Science in Géomatique from the same institution, completing it in 2007. Subsequently, Simon went on to receive their Ph.D. in Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering from the University of New Brunswick, which they accomplished in 2014.
