Are Knutsen

Are Knutsen has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Are is currently serving as the SVP & Head of Services & Sustainability at XXL Sport & Villmark since October 2021. Prior to this, Are was the Founder & CEO of Otto by Bertel O. Steen from March 2020 to October 2021.

Before their entrepreneurship journey, Are held leadership roles at Bertel O. Steen AS, where they served as the Director of Service Development and Innovation from November 2017 to March 2020. Are also worked as a Business Development Manager at the same company from December 2015 to November 2017.

Are's earlier experiences include working as a Project Manager at Telenor ASA - GID from January 2013 to December 2015, Senior Consultant at Ernst & Young Advisory from August 2008 to January 2013, and Team Leader at DnB NOR from September 2005 to June 2008.

Additionally, Are has worked in event production at Fieldwork and as a Store Assistant at EMFI & BR Leker in the earlier stages of their career.

Are Knutsen obtained a Master of Science degree in Business Administration from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (UMB) from 2006 to 2008. Prior to that, they earned a BSc degree in Business Administration from Oslo and Akershus University College from 2003 to 2006. In addition, they obtained a Prince2 Foundation certification from APMG-International in 2014.
