Bill Carroll is currently the Engagement Manager at Yates. Prior to that, they were with VMware MAPBU (formerly Pivotal) from September 2019 to September 2021 as the Engagement Director. Before that, they were with SolarWinds from August 2018 to August 2019 as the Sr Director of IT Operations.
Bill has spent their career working with large organizations on strategic projects, helping them to effectively use modern technologies and adopt agile methods. Bill has authored and curated enablement material describing Tanzu product outcomes including cost savings, zero-trust security for cloud-native workloads, life-cycle management opportunities and more.
At SolarWinds, Bill led a team of 75 IT professionals and directed enterprise strategy for global IT services including infrastructure, end user services, web hosting, and development tools support. Bill created a product feedback program that leveraged SolarWinds IT administrators’ real-world feedback on M&A target evaluation, Gartner-style comparison, and general product improvement feedback which has been instrumental in enhancing organizational strategy, product improvements, strategic acquisitions, and adding business value, leading to more open channels of communication and increased credibility.
Bill Carroll has a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin, and also has an A&IPM Project Management Intensive Certificate Program from St. Edward's University. Bill is currently a student in the Cockrell School of Engineering Leadership Development program at The University of Texas at Austin, and is also studying at the Acton School of Business. Bill Carroll is certified by (ISC)² as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), by the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service as The EOC's Role in Community Cyber Security, by the Project Management Institute as a Project Management Professional, by The Linux Foundation as a CKA: Certified Kubernetes Administrator, and by the Scrum Alliance as a Certified ScrumMaster.
