Nick Shevelyov

Nick Shevelyov is the former Chief Security Officer of Silicon Valley Bank, where he led global security, privacy, and operational risk programs.

Nick applies over 20 years of experience from the digital battlefield to 21st-century technology adoption to ensure better security risk management outcomes. Over his 15 year tenure at Silicon Valley Bank, Nick held various senior security roles including serving as the bank’s first Chief Security and Privacy Officer, Chief Information Officer, and most recently, Chief Security Officer. Prior to joining Silicon Valley Bank, he managed security and privacy engagements for global technology and financial services organizations at Deloitte. Previously, he held managerial, technological, and analyst roles at various organizations.

Nick currently advises several venture capital firms and startups, and serves on the Bay Area CSO Council. He also authored “Cyber War…and Peace: Building Digital Trust with History as our Guide”.

Nick holds a Bachelor of Economics from San Francisco State University, a Master of Business Administration from the University of San Francisco School of Management, and executive education degrees from Harvard University and Stanford University.
