ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Account Executive to join an emerging team of media specialists based in NY to support accounts focused on technology and consumer products/goods. You will be responsible for driving media activities - including pitching, media relations and POVs - across multiple accounts.
You will also be joining an emerging group of specialists, who often have visibility across the agency and are passionate about all things media. This is a great next step for those with a knack for media relations, are interested in expanding their relationships to new verticals and professionals who want to help clients win in the media in ways they haven't before.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Extensive media relations experience, securing coverage across tech, consumer~~,~~ and lifestyle verticals (experience with affiliate links a plus.)
- Maintaining strong media relationships with influential, national media.
- Crafting thoughtful pitches and uncovering compelling stories.
- Staying on top of the media landscape (what’s being covered in the news, who is covering it, etc.) and providing a media expert POV across the agency.
- Mentoring junior staff to effectively work with media.
- Building and maintaining current media lists (familiarity with Cision, MuckRack is a must.)
- Researching, interviewing, writing, and editing pitches as well as knowing best practices for other media materials (fact sheets, press releases, key messages, and others) as needed.
- Practicing effective project management while working with other team members and understanding the "big picture" of the client program.
- Coaching junior employees and demonstrated ability to supervise & delegate tasks appropriately.
- Assisting with new business as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:

- You have an understanding of the media landscape and what it takes to secure meaningful client wins with media.
- You are resourceful and tenacious when it comes to delivering results for clients and your team.
- Building strong relationships is in your DNA and you are a true partner to both clients and your team.
- You have earned a Bachelor’s degree.
- PR is your passion, and you have 3+ years of media relations experience.
- People recognize your excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
- Earned media placements by crafting newsworthy pitches, releases, contributed articles in consumer lifestyle verticals.
