Julia Khandurina

Senior Director, Bioanalytical Chemistry at Zero Acre Farms

Julia Khandurina has over 25 years of experience in the field of chemistry. Julia began her career in 1993 as a Scientific Researcher at Moscow State University, where she conducted research in polymer chemistry, polymer physics, colloid chemistry, and structural analysis of polymers and colloids. In 1996, she became a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where she developed microfluidic lab-on-a-chip devices for integrated processing and analysis of biological samples. In 2000, Julia was hired as a Research Scientist at Packard Instrument Co. and then moved to Torrey Mesa Research Institute (Syngenta) in 2001, where she developed novel bioseparation methods based on capillary electrophoresis and microfluidics. In 2003, Julia joined Diversa as a Staff Scientist, where she worked on large-scale high-throughput carbohydrate analysis and profiling by capillary electrophoresis for enzymatic activity and bioindustrial process characterization. In 2006, Julia joined Anadys Pharmaceuticals as a Scientist, where she conducted bioanalysis of small molecules and preclinical PK. In 2007, Julia joined Genomatica as a Senior Scientist I and eventually became Senior Director of Analytical Sciences in 2021, where she managed a team of 6-10 Scientists and Research Associates and built a full-scale analytical lab. In 2022, Julia became Senior Director of Bioanalytical Chemistry at Zero Acre Farms.

Julia Khandurina holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemistry from Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU).
