Head Of Sports Medicine at AFC Bournemouth

Craig Roberts has a diverse work experience in sports medicine. Craig is currently serving as an External Sports Medicine Consultant for The Football Association since January 2021. Previously, they worked as the Head of Sports Medicine for AFC Bournemouth starting in November 2015. Before that, they were a Sports Physician & Team Doctor for Springboks from February 2008 to November 2015 and as a Team Physician for The Sharks from January 2000 to December 2010.

Craig Roberts completed their education at a few different institutions. Craig obtained their MSc in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound from Bournemouth University in the years 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, from 1988 to 1994, they attended the University of Cape Town where they earned an MBChB and an MPhil in Sports Medicine, specializing in Sports and Exercise Medicine. Craig's educational journey began at St Stithians College from 1974 to 1986, where they completed their Matric.
