Elizabeth Buendia

Elizabeth Buendia is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in marine scientific research and conservation. Currently serving as a Marine Scientific Research Officer at Akima Support Operations since August 2022, Elizabeth previously held the position of Liaison to the Department of State - Office of Marine Conservation within the U.S. Coast Guard from July 2019 to September 2022. Elizabeth's career with the U.S. Coast Guard began in May 2002 as a Fishery Officer, a role maintained until September 2022. Elizabeth holds a Master's of Marine Affairs from the University of Rhode Island, earned in 2012, and a Bachelor of Science from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, completed in 2002.
