Jim Merrikin

Jim Merrikin has a significant amount of work experience in the field of design and user experience. Jim worked as the Head of Design & User Experience at Akoya from 2019 to the present, where they played a key role in transforming the way consumers provide access to their data. Prior to that, Jim worked at Fidelity Investments from 2012 to 2020, starting as the Head of User Experience and later becoming the Director of UX Development. During this time, they specialized in full-stack development and led diverse teams to deliver high-performing user experiences. Before Fidelity Investments, Jim worked at Mercer from 2008 to 2012 as a Senior UI Developer. In this role, they focused on developing rich and intuitive user interfaces for various online portals.

From 1981 to 1983, Jim attended Berklee College of Music and studied Audio Recording/Engineering. During this time, they did not obtain a degree.

Between 1997 and 1999, Jim attended Massassoit Community College, where they studied Business Management. Jim did not complete a degree program at this institution.

In 2007, Jim attended New Horizons Computer Learning Center, where they obtained a certification in CompTIA Network+.

In 2003 and 2004, Jim attended the University of Phoenix, pursuing a degree in Business Management. However, their degree status is listed as "Pending," indicating that they did not complete the degree program.

From 1985 to 1986, Jim attended Northeastern University and studied Computer Science. Jim did not obtain a degree from this institution.

In 1979 and 1980, Jim attended the USAF Sheppard AFB Engineering School, where they achieved a Diploma of Education in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Engineering Technology/Technician.

In addition to their formal education, Jim has obtained several certifications throughout their career. These include completing the Digital Product Management Training Course from the 280 Group in May 2023, attending a course titled "Communicating Across Cultures" on Lynda.com in July 2019, completing a course on "Unconscious Bias" on Lynda.com in July 2018, and obtaining the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in April 2021.
