Jeremiah Hanes

Jeremiah Hanes has extensive work experience in the biotechnology field. Jeremiah is currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Research & Development at Ansa Biotechnologies, Inc. starting from August 2022. Previously, they held various roles at Pacific Biosciences, including Vice President of Reagents R&D from March 2020 to April 2022, Senior Director of Biochemistry from February 2015 to March 2020, and Senior Scientist from February 2009 to February 2015. Prior to their time at Pacific Biosciences, they worked as a Postdoctoral Associate at Cornell University from June 2005 to February 2009.

Jeremiah Hanes has a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from The University of Texas at Austin. Jeremiah studied the mitochondrial toxicity of the NRTIs used for HIV treatment from 2000 to 2004. Prior to their Ph.D., they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where they focused on enzyme purification and characterization from 1996 to 2000.
