Paulina has extensive experience in nonprofit management, both in the US and Chile, having worked for several international organizations such as the World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank and United Nations. In 2007, she joined the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) as Executive Officer, where she was responsible for the interactions with the ALMA board and community relations. Paulina became the AUI Representative/NRAO Assistant Director for Chile in October 2016, after serving two years as the Chief of Staff at the Office of Chilean Affairs.
Paulina was born in Chile but attended high school, college and graduate school in Canada and the United States. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Vassar College and her Master of Arts in Latin American Studies and Master of Business Administration from Georgetown University.
