Nicole Peterlin Schnell

Nicole Peterlin Schnell, SHRM-CP has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several years. Nicole is currently the Chief Operating Officer at Avenica since October 2023. Prior to this role, they served as the Vice President, People Operations at Avenica from October 2022 to October 2023. Before joining Avenica, Nicole worked as a Human Resources Director at Avenica from November 2019 to October 2022.

Nicole's prior experience includes working at Augsburg University as an HR Generalist from May 2018 to November 2019 and as a Human Resources Specialist from December 2015 to May 2018. In these roles, they managed the coordination of benefit plans, acted as the first point of contact for insurance brokers and vendors, and worked on various benefit-related initiatives such as wellness programs and tuition benefits. Nicole also worked on projects related to updating benefit materials, compliance documents, web content, and administering employee surveys.

In addition, Nicole worked as an Office Assistant at the University of Minnesota Electrical and Computer Engineering from September 2010 to August 2014. Nicole also served as a Bookkeeper at Vidas, Arrett & Steinkraus, P.A. from March 2012 to September 2012, and as a Remittance Processing Intern at Lake Country Power in June 2011.

Earlier in their career, Nicole worked as an Accounts Payable at Iron Trail Motors, LLC from June 2007 to August 2011. Nicole also has a background in martial arts, having achieved a 2nd Degree Black Belt at Karate North Tae Kwon Do from July 1998 to 2010.

Nicole Peterlin Schnell, SHRM-CP, holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Augsburg University, which they earned between 2017 and 2019. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Human Resources/Industrial Relations from the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management, completing their studies between 2010 and 2014. Nicole also possesses additional certifications, including the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) designation obtained in July 2016, and a Diversity and Inclusion Certificate from Augsburg University.
