The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office is an elite law enforcement organization under the leadership of the county's Prosecutor, who is mandated by law to serve as the chief law enforcement official of the county. 

The Prosecutor's Office maintains specialized squads available to assist the 70 municipalities of Bergen County, NJ in the investigation of crimes calling for increased personnel, specialized equipment, technical know-how or highly specialized training. 

With a countywide population of almost 1 million residents, the Prosecutor's Office handles all serious crimes committed anywhere in the county, including: arson, child abuse, cyber crime, drug trafficking & narcotics, financial crime & insurance fraud, homicide, sex crimes, and traditional organized crime. This highly trained staff, some of whom work 24/7, give each municipality the ability to bring additional resources to bear when presented with particularly challenging cases or particularly dangerous offenders.
