Matt Beneke

Matt Beneke has extensive work experience in systems engineering. Matt is currently working as a Senior Systems Engineer at Beyond Air® since February 2022. Prior to that, they worked at SHINE Technologies from January 2018 to February 2022 as a Systems Engineer. In this role, they played a key role in productizing a prototype accelerator-based neutron imaging system and generating complete documentation structure. Matt also conducted risk management sessions and drove new system features and operational processes.

Before their role at SHINE Technologies, Matt worked at Accuray as a Group Lead Systems Engineer from May 2006 to January 2018. Here, they wrote requirements at various levels and designed test protocols for hardware and software integration on a gantry-based linear accelerator system used for cancer treatment. Matt also served as the design authority on several projects introducing new hardware and software.

Prior to their role at Accuray, they worked as a Laboratory Assistant at the University of Michigan from March 2005 to May 2006. Matt started their career at GE Healthcare as a Systems Engineer from October 2000 to November 2004. In this role, they wrote system requirements, introduced a universal test platform for digital detectors, and supported the manufacture of X-ray digital detectors.

Matt Beneke holds a Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Michigan - Rackham Graduate School, which they obtained from 2004 to 2006. Prior to that, they received a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Iowa, where they studied from 1995 to 2000. In addition to their academic qualifications, Matt has also earned certifications as a Certified Systems Engineer Professional (CSEP) from INCOSE in November 2018.
