Otaviano Canuto

Otaviano Canuto is a distinguished economist with extensive experience in various prestigious institutions. Currently serving as a Senior Fellow at the Policy Center for the New South and the Brookings Institution, as well as Principal at the Center for Macroeconomics and Development, Canuto has contributed significantly to economic policy and research. Previous roles include Executive Director at both the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund, and Senior Adviser on BRICS Economies at the World Bank. Canuto has also held leadership positions at the Inter-American Development Bank and the World Bank, focusing on economic management and international affairs. Educational qualifications include a Doctorate and Master's degrees in Economics from the University of Campinas and Concordia University, respectively.
