Communications Lead, Toronto Relay For Life at Canadian Cancer Society

Renee Manderville has a diverse range of work experiences. Renee has worked as a Communications Lead for the Canadian Cancer Society in 2023. Prior to that, they interned as a Feminist Legal Reform Intern at the National Association of Women and the Law in 2023. Renee also worked as a Summer Legal Intern at a sole-practice law firm specializing in Employment Law, Civil Litigation, and Administrative and Public Law in 2022.

In 2022, Renee was a Legislative Development Intern at the Senate of Canada, where they focused on researching and analyzing legislation related to the coerced sterilization of Indigenous women. Renee also assisted with community engagement and Indigenous health-related topics.

During their time at McGill University, Renee held multiple roles including Editor for the Journal of Indian Ocean World Studies, Social Media Manager for the Indian Ocean World Centre, and Project Manager for the Indian Ocean World Centre. Renee also completed their MA in Southeast Asian and Indian Ocean World history.

Other notable experiences include working as an EcoJustice Student Intern at Ecojustice Canada in 2021, a Customer Service Representative at OMERS from 2018 to 2019, and various roles at The Taylor Statten Camps from 2013 to 2017, including Canoe Trip Guide, Canoe Tripping Counsellor and Guide, and Work Crew Member.

Renee Manderville completed their Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in History at Queen's University. Afterward, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in History at McGill University. Currently, Renee is enrolled at the University of Ottawa, where they are working towards a Doctor of Law - JD degree.
