Joel Chartier

Joel Chartier, B.Ing. has a diverse work experience in various technology roles. Joel started their career as a programming analyst at Extenway Solutions Inc in 2011. Joel then worked as a programmer analyst at Sologlobe Logistics Inc in 2012, where they developed Java applications and integrated them with Microsoft Dynamics AX and NAV, as well as various delivery services. In the same year, they also worked as a laboratory supervisor at École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS). From 2013 to 2015, Joel worked as a Full Stack Developer at Solutions Medias 360, where they developed Java and NodeJS applications, provided technical leadership to a team of 30 people, and supported development teams with DevOps needs. From 2016 to 2019, they held the role of Tech Lead at Solutions Medias 360, where they were responsible for backend development, coaching and code review, analysis and design of new features, management of technical debt, and documentation of technology and architecture choices. In 2019, Joel joined ChallengeU as the Head of Technology.

Joel Chartier, B.Ing., obtained a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering from the École de technologie supérieure from 2009 to 2014. Joel also completed additional training in Developing on AWS from Amazon Web Services in 2017 and received core Elasticsearch training from Elasticsearch in 2015. Prior to their Bachelor's degree, Joel earned a Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Pure Sciences from Cégep André-Laurendeau between 2006 and 2009. Additionally, they are currently pursuing a Certification in Leadership and Management Skills from the Institut de leadership en gestion, set to be obtained in 2023.
