Aleksej Irinich (AMIMechE)

Aleksej Irinich (AMIMechE) has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Aleksej currently serves as the Vehicle Engineering Lead at CHARGE CARS since May 2022. Prior to this, they worked at ARRIVAL from 2015 to 2022, starting as a System Engineer before progressing to Lead Chassis Systems Engineer and ultimately, X-by-Wire Systems Lead. At ARRIVAL, their responsibilities included developing advanced chassis systems, supplying internal projects with automated steering and braking systems, and staying updated on legislative requirements.

Before joining ARRIVAL, Aleksej worked at Roborace as a System Engineer from 2015 to 2017, where they designed steering and braking systems for the autonomous performance vehicle, Roborace DevBot. Additionally, they gained experience at Millbrook Proving Ground Ltd from 2013 to 2015 as a Design Release Engineer and Vehicle Design Engineer, where they focused on exterior plastics and lights for the Vauxhall/Opel Vivaro project.

Aleksej also worked at Onega – Master from 2012 to 2015 as an International Sales Manager, responsible for marketing campaign expenditure and conducting market research. Furthermore, they had a part-time role at Loughborough University Students' Union as a Venue Staff member from 2012 to 2013, where they provided excellent customer service.

Their early career started at Loughborough University, where they served as a Formula Student Technical and Administrative Assistant from 2010 to 2011. In this role, they contributed to the research and design of carbon fibre monocoques and rear uprights for the next generation Formula Student Performance vehicle.

Aleksej Irinich (AMIMechE) completed their education in a chronological manner. Aleksej began their education at Rigas Secondary School number 72 from 1995 to 2007, where they obtained a Secondary Education Certificate with a focus on Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry.

Following their secondary education, Aleksej pursued higher education at Loughborough University from 2008 to 2013. Here, they completed their Master of Engineering (MEng) (Hons) degree in Automotive Engineering Technology.

In addition to their formal education, Aleksej also obtained additional certifications. In 2013, they were awarded the Employability Award Certificate from Loughborough University. Furthermore, in 2015, they completed the CATIA V5 FUNDAMENTAL TRAINING program offered by Intrinsys.
