Daniela da Cruz has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Daniela started their career at Universidade do Minho as a Lecturer and later became a Ph.D. Student. Daniela also worked as a Researcher at Centro de Ciências e Tecnologias de Computação, where they contributed to fundamental and applied research projects in computer science and technology.

Daniela then transitioned to the field of programming and worked as a Freelancer Programmer at VWorker. Daniela also gained teaching experience as an Assistante Convidada at Universidade Lusófona Porto and later became a Professora Auxiliar.

In 2011, Daniela joined Checkmarx, a software security company, as a Software Developer. Daniela then progressed to become a Software Team Leader, leading a team focused on source code analysis and application security testing. Daniela further advanced as the Director of R&D and eventually served as the Head of Engineering, overseeing multidisciplinary teams across three countries.

Currently, Daniela holds the role of VP of Engineering at Checkmarx, where they are responsible for the development of Checkmarx One (SaaS) and the SAST and Engines divisions. Daniela'srole includes leading global teams, managing operations, and collaborating with various functions within the organization.

Daniela da Cruz pursued their education in Computer Science at the Universidade do Minho. From 2002 to 2007, they completed a Licenciatura degree in the field. Subsequently, they furthered their studies at the same university and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science from 2007 to 2011.
